Gulf Coast Exotic Bird Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit that provides permanent refuge and veterinary care for exotic birds that are rescued, handicapped, aggressive or whose previous owners would like them to live out their lives in a sanctuary environment.
We are a true sanctuary and do not sell or adopt birds out.
Gulf Coast Exotic Bird Sanctuary is supported solely by sponsorships and donations, it does not receive any financial assistance from the government. We do not like to turn away any exotic bird in need therefore; we are asking that you please consider sponsoring one of our sanctuary birds. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible.

If you feel the need to relinquish your exotic bird, please feel free to call and schedule an appointment to tour the sanctuary. We understand this is a hard decision to make and we encourage you to come by first before donating your exotic bird.
Gulf Coast Exotic Bird Sanctuary is located on private property and, for the safety of our residents, is not open to the public.

Since we rely on public donations to properly run the sanctuary we will have to ask that all parrots arriving to the sanctuary be sponsored for their lifelong care. If you are unable to pay the whole monthly sponsorship for the species you are bringing we will gladly work with you. We will consider all birds in need on a case by case basis.
As funding permits we place parrots in aviaries according to who arrived first to be fair. We have found it is not easy to put large numbers of the same species in the same flight on certain birds because they will pair up and begin fighting. Because of this we require more aviaries. If we do not have an aviary available after the quarantine period, the bird you have donated will be placed on a waiting list. If you would like them to be placed in an aviary sooner, with a monetary donation for the cost of materials, we will gladly build one according to the needs of the species you have donated to the sanctuary.
